TAEKWON-DO PURE EVENT
Black belt and coloured belt grading
Sunday 24th June saw three of our competitors travel up to St. Albans for the first ever TKD Pure event, this is a black belt only event designed to involve the best UK Taekwon-Do competitors from all different groups. We Had Richard Winton competing in the veterans category for the first time in 6 years, Mike Bartlett competing with very little training and Ryan Simpson.
The Veterans were first with Mike showing well in an excellent pattern division, narrowly missing out on a medal. Then came the sparring with Richard gaining a bronze, and the same for Mike.
Then it was Ryan's turn, he won gold in patterns and then to his great delight avenging the previous defeat to the same opponent he won the sparring too.
Well done to all who competed and supported.
There are lot's of events this summer, so if you'd like to take part see your Instructor.
LTSI TAEKWON-DO COMPETITION SUCCESS
Sunday May 27th saw over 60 black belt, and coloured belt students take to the grading floor in Poole, a 90% pass rate was achieved on the day.
Kickboxers and Taekwon-Do students from all over Dorset took part.
Unfortunately for all concerned it meant we were all inside on such a glorious day, in fact the Kickboxing black belt grading was 'Brutal' not only for the content, but by this point the sun shining on the grading mats began to take it's toll on the highly prepared candidates.
In total 8 members during the day achieved credit passes, so well done to them.
A big thank you to all the Black belts who helped set up and pack away, some were there from 7.45am until gone 6.30pm
Next grading will be on August 19th, train hard and you could be there
NEW BROADSTONE KICKBOXING CLASS
Congratulations go to Ryan Simpson on his first competition as a senior. The competition which had over 400 entrants was held in St. Albans on March 4th. Ryan won the Black belt pattern division, and came second in the sparring, not bad for his first adult competition.

World Taekwon-Do Champs
On Sunday January 13th Sam Nourse and Billy Hitchcock travelled up to the Spartans Gym in Chippenham to gain valuable experience. The Spartans have a great reputation for putting on these well supported events, and this was no exception people travelled from all over England and Wales to fight.
Billy was up first against a more experienced boxer from Wales, and acquitted himself very well using the first round to feel his way in, then fire his kicks more in the second round, the other lad put Billy under lot's of pressure with his punches but Billy to his credit didn't shy away, the third and final round was again a contest between the Welsh Lad's stronger punches and Billy sharper kicks. All in all Billy will take away lot's from the experience.
Next was Sam Nourse who again was up against a Welsh lad, Sam was very nervous before the bout but with lot's of encouragement stepped up. As predicted Sam's worries weren't necessary the first round he moved well, led with both hands and legs and was very comfortable. Half way through the second round his opponent sustained a nose bleed which the medics attended too. Then the fight was on the remainder of the second round the Welsh lad came out 'All guns blazing' but Sam continued to use his longer reach. By the third the Welsh lad was desperate and Sam would have learnt some valuable lessons.
Well done to all who competed and supported.
Spartans will be running another one in April, so speak to Sam, Billy and Master Jones and get involved
Wow, what an amazing experience our Integrity team had in Barnaveld, Holland. ITF Korea put on the first open ITF world championships with close to 1,000 competitors, including huge teams from Australia, Canada, Holland and Russia.
Back in April, lot's of Integrity students and Instructors took part in a sponsored walk from Sturminster Newton to Blandford on the Dorset Trail to raise money for Cancer research and also to raise funds for the Integrity squad members competing in the World open TKD champs later on this year in Holland.
