Dear Parents and Carers,
As we come to the end of another fantastic term, I just wanted to say what an incredible few months we've had! It's been a busy and exciting term filled with so many memorable experiences. Our students have worked incredibly hard.
Many of our students took their public grading in June, and for some of them it was the first time. Our youngest orange belts were only six years old! Not only did everyone show great technique, but they all excelled under the spotlight and their confidence has grown. It is amazing for us as instructors to see this, and we are very proud of all of them.
We had a fantastic turnout at our local competition in Charlton Marshall, with many of our students stepping onto the mat to compete. For some of our youngest members, including children as young as four, it was their very first competition. They showed incredible courage and confidence, performing and demonstrating the skills they've worked so hard to develop in front of an audience for the first time. We couldn't be prouder of them.
In April some of our older students also competed with over 300 other competitors at EMAP in Bristol. Not only did many of them bring home medals, but it was the supporting of each other that really stood out! There will be another EMAP event this year, look out for details coming soon.
Another highlight of the term was our first ever Camp Out Out. It was a huge success, although the 5am wake up call wasn’t my favourite part!!
We also had beach training and 20 students turned up to Weymouth beach to enjoy exercising in the sea. We hope to run another beach session in August.
We look forward to seeing many of you at our Summer Camp during the holidays—it's always a highlight of the summer! Don't forget that we'll also be running our weekly additional class throughout the holidays for anyone who would like to keep training. Details will follow in a separate email, and we will post details on our Facebook so please do look out for the information
We are now planning lots of exciting events for the Autumn term, and we look forward to seeing everyone in September. We hope you all have a wonderful, relaxing, and well-deserved summer break
Amanda, Jamie & Sophie
